Carmarthenshire Libraries will soon be offering its members access to free digital newspapers.

Whether you are on the go or relaxing on the sofa members will be able to browse over 7,000 UK, international and local digital newspapers and magazines, 24 hours a day, seven days a week from any device.

The Press Reader app will be available to download to a Smartphone, laptop, tablet or PC via the libraries website later this month. The software also provides translation in up to 18 languages for most articles as well as an audio narration function.

Executive board member responsible for libraries, Cllr Peter Hughes-Griffiths: “We live in an era where everything is going digital and this is another great example of one of the many online services we offer in our libraries in Carmarthenshire.  It is exclusive to our members who will have access to the news at a touch of a button anytime, anywhere. More importantly it’s free.”

Other online services include E-books, E-audiobooks, Access to research –, Credo, Law and Business, GoCitizen and Theory Test Pro and many more.

Membership is free at any of the regional, branch or mobile library in the county. Please bring proof of identity to sign up for a membership card and pin number.
