Forget #ViewFromTheOffice! We’re launching a new social media hashtag #ThisIsMyOffice to show people how policing is changing in Dyfed-Powys. Our officers and PCSOs are no longer bound to desks and computer screens at the police station, filling out laborious but highly important paperwork.
We’re embracing technology that allows our frontline officers and PCSOs to remain out on patrol in the communities they serve. They have Mobile Data Devices, which allow officers to complete a lot of their admin work, carry out enquiries and use technology such as ANPR, while out and about.
Working in such a beautiful part of the world, why on earth would they not want to spend more time enjoying the view while they work to make our communities safer?
So if you see an officer or PCSO appearing to be playing around on their mobile phones, they are actually working from their Mobile Data Devices out in their communities. They are what we fondly call our walking digital police stations. Their community is their office.
